Yes, to use any of the below services, you need to access the Facebook API.

Facebook offers a lot of services, but in the theme we utilize the following:
Requirements
To access the API, you will need:
- a Facebook Developer account, which you can create at developers.facebook.com
- a registered Facebook app
- The Facebook app must be in Live Mode
Create And Bind An Application
To create a new Facebook application, please do as follows:
- Go to https://developers.facebook.com/apps
- Click the Create App button
- Choose the purpose of your app (here Build Connected Experiences) and Continue
- Fill in Display Name and Contact Email and click the Create App ID button
- When the app is created, find the App ID and App Secret
- Put the App ID and App Secret into the WP Dashboard > Appearance > Theme Options > Third-party APIs > Facebook
- Save changes
