Fake Views

Fake views functionality allows you to display a certain starting number of views for every post, so you don’t have to start from 0. This can be set globally or locally for every post.

Auto-Calculation

Automatic views calculation gets into account post publish date. At first views, the counter won’t be equal to the value you set as Fake view count base (see below) but will be only 10% of it. The counter will reach the final value after 30 days which makes it look more natural during post lifetime.

Global Setup

To enable auto-calculation, please do as follows:

  1. Go to the WP Dashboard › Appearance › Customize panel
  2. Go to the Posts › General section
  3. Set the Fake views count base value to a number to set it globally. Leave the value empty to disable it

Single Post Setup

To set it up for a particular post, please:

  1. On post edition screen, find the Fake views meta box just below the main post content
  2. Leave the Fake view count empty to use global setup or set a number of fake views only for that post

Disable Fakes For New Submissions

To disable fake views for new posts submitted via Snax frontend uploader, please:

  1. Go to the WP Dashboard › Appearance › Customize panel
  2. Go to the Posts › General section
  3. Set the Disable fake views for new submissions option to yes
