When it comes to sites that have gone down, the original Torrentz2 was taken down in 2016. Fortunately, a clone of the site is now active, but it is more of a meta search engine than a genuine torrent site. This is the one we’re going to concentrate on in this essay. The new Torrentz2 Site sprang from the ashes of Torrentz2eu, which was voluntarily shut down in 2016, but retains the Torrentz2.eu domain name. Nobody knows why Torrentz2eu was shut down, however some speculate that it was done to avoid legal difficulties, given it was taken down immediately after Kickass Torrents was shut down and its admin was arrested.
