When a user submits a new post/item, it is not published immediately. Before publishing, you should review what’s added to your site. That’s why before anything can be publicly accessible for your visitors, it’s waiting for moderation in the review queue.
How Will I Know When A New Post/Item Was Submitted?
When a user creates a new post or contributes to an existing list, you will get an email about that. Check the Notifications section below.
The Snax plugin provides also a WordPress Dashboard Widget for that. Please check the screen below. If a post or item is awaiting moderation, you will find it there.
If you can’t find the Snax Overview widget on your Dashboard, please open the Screen Options (top right page corner) and check it there.
How to Approve A New Post?
Posts in the review queue are always in Pending status. To approve such a post and make it visible for all users, please do as follows:
- Go to the WP Dashboard > Posts
- Click the Pending tab
- Choose the Snax: All formats option and click Filter.
- From a list of pending posts, choose a post to review
- Preview the post to check its quality
- If all is fine, click the Publish button
How To Approve A New Item?
Items in the review queue are always in Pending status. To approve such an item and make it visible for all users, please do as follows:
- Go to the WP Dashboard > Snax Items
- Click the Pending tab
- From the filtered list of pending items, choose one to review
- Preview the item to check its quality
- If all is fine, click the Publish button
How To Discard A New Post/Item?
If a submission you’ve reviews doesn’t meet your site’s standards, just remove it.
How To Skip Verification Step?
Without moderation, all submitted posts/items will be immediately visible on your site.
We strongly recommend you to reconsider the decision of disabling the review step. Please be aware that spammers may take advantage of that and submit low-quality and improper content.
If you’re absolutely sure about what you are doing and you want to allow posts publication without a review process, please do as follows:
- Go to the WP Dashboard > Settings > Snax settings page
- Click the Moderation tab
- Set the Moderate new posts option to “no”
Notifications
By default, mail notifications are sent to the site’s administrator. If you don’t want to receive them, disable the option WP Dashboard > Settings > Snax > Moderation > Send mail to admin when a new post/item was added?.
